Daniel Lofgren Obituary
Daniel James Lofgren was born in Cicero, IL, on April 27, 1959, the son of Gordon and Patricia (Rutz) Lofgren. He lived in McFarland, WI during his school years; and attended Madison Area Technical College for electronics. After college, Dan worked for Capital Lock and Security Systems, Radio Specialty Company, and Midwest Equipment Specialists, of Stoughton, WI. While in Madison, he was very involved with Madison Tae Kwan Do School, on Wilson Street.
On January 19, 1996, he was united in marriage to Amita Peres-de-Silva, in Stevens Point, WI. Dan and his family have lived in Wausau since 1997, where he has worked for Bob's Electric, East Bay, and Aspirus Wausau Hospital Security.
Dan's interests included music, photography, and landscaping design. His children were the center of his universe.
On January 24, 2014, Daniel James Lofgren, passed away peacefully, at Aspirus Hospice House, Wausau. He is now living in heaven with Jesus.
Dan is survived by his wife, Amita; son, Christopher; daughter, Sephorah; parents, Dr. Gordon and Patricia Lofgren, McFarland, WI; two sisters, Joan Neumann (Rev. Mark) Neumann, Colby, WI, and Katherine (Mark) Siegmann, McFarland; and three brothers, Karl (Lori) Lofgren, Lodi, WI, Lt. Col. David (Giap) Lofgren, Quantico, VA, and Mark Lofgren, Broomfield, CO; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, January 27, at the Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Reverend Jeffrey Hennes, Saint Anne Parish, will officiate. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park, Monona, WI. Family will receive guests on Monday, at the funeral home, from 10 a.m. until the time of service. The Lofgren Trust will be established for Dan's children at BMO Harris Bank, Wausau.

My deepest sympathy to Dan's family. I worked the night shift with him for most of the years he was at Aspirus and admired his confidence, expertise and compassion in many difficult security situations. I recall how proud he was of his family and his love for them. May God welcome him and sustain his family until they meet again.

I was fortunate enough to have worked with Dan for many years at Aspirus in the Security Department. He was our "camera man". When we needed to find anything on our cameras he was our guy. He could see the smallest of details and always seemed to find what we were searching for. My heart goes out to Dan's children. He spoke of them often....they were his entire life. Dan's life was taken to soon. However, his pain and sickness are now gone. RIP #812.
