Florian Romatowski

Mosinee - Florian E. Romatowski, 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 17th, 2021, at Cedar Ridge Elder Services, Mosinee.

Florian was born on May 13, 1936, in Kronenwetter. He was the son of the late Michael and Cecelia (Grzyb) Romatowski. He married Elizabeth Grochmal on October 6, 1956 at St Paul Catholic Church in Mosinee; she survives.

He was a real outdoorsman, who immensely enjoyed fishing and hunting and being outdoors, learning and studying history, and was a WWII expert. Florian was a family man; his favorite pastime was spending time with his children and grandchildren. People would call him "Flo" but always with a great deal of affection. He was an entrepreneur, a Mr. Fix-It, and a Go-To man, who was always capable of figuring out problems and how to fix them. Florian was a kind and compassionate man; for being a "hunter" he always had a soft heart for rescuing animals, especially baby squirrels. Florian had his favorite dogs including Heidi and Spunky. He set a great example for all of us on how to live our lives, to be good people, and to always be proud to call him "Daddy".

Survivors, besides his wife Elizabeth; include his children, Sharon (Bill) Bartling, Rib Mtn, Christine Romatowski, Wausau, Robert (Laurie) Romatowski, Weston, Marsha (Michael) Kowalski, Pickerel; six grandchildren, Elissa Olszewski, Andy (Jenny) Olszewski, Adam (Ashley) Olszewski, Chase (Brooke Furger) Romatowski, Cassie Kowalski, and Evan Kowalski; as well as many nieces and nephews; one brother, Raymond (Jean) Romatowski, Mosinee; two sister-in-laws, Janee Romatowski, Wis. Rapids, and Leona Kittell, Schofield. Florian was preceded in death by brothers, Michael and Leon Romatowski, and one son-in-law, Bob Olszewski.
