Loretta Markrof Obituary

Markrof, Loretta

Loretta Markrof, 88, died at home with family on October 26, 2013. She was born in Wausau on January 10, 1925 to the late Anton and Catherine Skarwecki. She married Clarence (Doc) Markrof in November of 1941 and was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and embroidery work. She was an avid fisherman and displayed her prize catches. As a sports enthusiast, she rarely missed tuning into a Packer, Badger, or Brewer game. On weekends she enjoyed playing family board games and visiting her favorite casino. Loretta is survived by two daughters: Sally (Ned) Westman; and Carol Kubs; one daughter-in-law Luanne Markrof; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; her special poodle Katie; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence (Doc) Markrof; one son LeRoy Markrof; one granddaughter Rebecca Manteufel; and three sisters: Katherine Allen; Margaret Narlock; and Dorothy Bailey. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Therese Catholic Church, Rothschild, on Thursday, October 31 at 11:00am with visitation from 9am until 1030am at John J. Buettgen Funeral Home . Family wishes to especially thank Aspirus Hospice and foremost the nurse Dawn A. for extraordinary care and compassion. Online condolences may be expressed at jjbfh.com.
