Marcus Harrop Obituary

Harrop, Marcus

Marcus W. Harrop, 27, Wausau, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at his home. Marcus was born May 26, 1987 to Todd and Stephanie Harrop (Monson) in Madison.

Marcus was a wonderful father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, grandchild, cousin and friend. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, disc-golfer and loved to spend time with his daughter Valory. He attended high school at Northland Lutheran High School and later graduated from Mosinee High School. He went on to attend Northcentral Technical College and earned his Associate Degree in Architectural Residential Design. Marcus had a lifelong love of music and as a teenager, taught himself to play the guitar. He will be remembered through his contagious smile, laugh, through many great stories that we all have, and through all of our amazing memories of time spent together, which is what we will all miss the most.

Survivors include his daughter Valory; his mother, Stephanie Monson; his father, Todd Harrop; his sisters, Cassandra and Jenna Harrop; his brother, Reed Rutkowski; his niece, Vanessa Harrop; his maternal grandmother, Barbara (Alan) Webb; his paternal grandmother Patricia Farrar (Sorenson); his paternal great-grandparents, Donald and Veronica Harrop; his aunts and uncles, Ann (David) Wiechmann, Tammy (Matthew) Hoyord, Mary (Daniel) Loomis, Tina (Ken) Klimke, many cousins, great aunts and uncles as well as numerous close friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, William D. Harrop; his maternal grandfather Larry W. Monson; his great uncle Donald D. Harrop and great aunt Judith A. Nelson.

Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 6205 Alderson Street, Weston. Rev. Lance Hoelscher will officiate. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until time of services at the church. Burial will take place on Monday, November 3, 2014 at Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau, at 2:00 p.m.
