Ruth C. Jehn, age 79, of Schofield, went to her heavenly home, where she will continue to shine, on Sunday, September 9, 2012 after her lengthy, courageous battle with cancer.

Ruth was born June 22, 1933 in Wausau, to the late Oscar and Rose (Sippl) Steckbauer. She married Charles Jehn on September 17, 1954.

Ruth owned and operated Ruth's Beauty Salon for 36 years. She loved her customers but never missed an episode of The Young and the Restless. Ruth had a passion for her family, gardening, cooking and decorating for every season. She was Hallmark's best customer. Planning for family gatherings kept her excitedly making lists and cooking for days on end.

Ruth faithfully served as head of the Alter Guild at Mt. Calvary in Rothschild and later at Mt. Olive in Weston where she enjoyed decorating the church for every holiday. Ruth nurtured a beautiful flower garden in her backyard, one year being voted Wausau Area Garden of the month.

Ruth will be remembered for her family holiday dinners, dozens of cookies delivered to the college dorm room, quarts of tomatoes and pickles and the gentle rock and back scratch of a grandchild or great grandchild.

Survivors include her husband, Charles of Schofield; sons, Dan (Kathy) Jehn of Owosso, Michigan, Jim (Sheri) Jehn of Weston and Mike (Patty) Jehn of Waukesha; a daughter Caryl (Steven) Lewis of Ringle; a brother Bill (Judy) Steckbauer of Panama City, Florida; grandchildren, Sara (Jason) Haumschild, Danielle and Katie Jehn, Justin (Heather) Jehn, Eric Jehn, Ben and Casey Jehn and Tanner and Anika Lewis; great grandchildren, Addison, Peyton and Parker Jehn.

Ruth was loved by all who knew her and felt her warm heart and genuine kindness.

Funeral service will be held at 4 pm on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, 6205 Alderson Street, Weston. The Rev. Ray Connor will officiate. Visitation will take place from 12:30 pm until the time of the service at Mt. Olive on Saturday.

Brainard Funeral Home, Everest Chapel is assisting the family and online condolences may be given at www.brainardfuneral.com.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Mt. Olive Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.

The family would like to thank Dr Rezazedeh and the wonderful staff at both Aspirus Regional Cancer Center and Aspirus Hospital Oncology Unit.

She will be missed! I always enjoyed checking in with her and we always seemed to catch up at IGA. I will miss her smile. What a blessing that you all had her for as long as you did. She loved you all so much. Prayers are with you all.

Dear Jehn Family, So sorry to hear the news about Ruth. Her middle name should have been "Love" because everyone that knew her loved her and in her heart, she returned that love. It's no wonder all her children are as wonderful as can be. We'll all miss her more than you know. God Bless.

Dear Charles and Family;
So sorry to hear that Ruth has passed away,but I guess the Lord needed her more then we did. Yes, we will miss her dearly,but we will have to remember the good times that we had with her.

I and Lauretta Borchardt always went to her to have our hair done by her. She did my hair for my wedding.My mom lived at 2718 Laguna Street.
I will pray for you and the family. I know that Lauretta, is waiting at the heaven doors to greet Ruth and make her feel welcome.

So sorry to see that Ruth passed away. I was her classmate for many years and graduated from Wausau Senior High in the same class. Saw her last Oct.1, 2011 at our Gala dinner for our class reunion. Great memories and loved teasing her. Thoughts to Charlie and she will be remembered in my prayers.
