DeAnn Marie Davis

1978 - 2025

DeAnn (Carey) Davis, 47, of Waverly, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025, in Hospice at Unity Point Allen Hospital, Waterloo, Iowa, surrounded by her family.

DeAnn was born in 1978 in Waverly, Iowa. She was baptized at Holy Name Catholic Church in Shell Rock and grew up in the area. DeAnn attended W-SR High School and later, Hawkeye Community College.

In 2010, DeAnn married Rodney Davis, and together they raised two children, Avian and Korbyn. DeAnn's children were her world and her most recent "brag" was Korbyn learning the guitar.

Deann was a devout Christian, and she collected rosary beads. She also loved movies and television series, her favorite being "The Golden Girls." Her passing message is "Thank you for being a friend," the series' theme song.

DeAnn is survived by her children, Avian and Korbyn; her partner, Rodney Davis; her parents, Richard and JoAnn Carey; and her siblings: Christie (Mike) McGuire, Jeff (Kim) Carey, Teresa (Chris) Gergen, Janel (Tony) Thompson, and Joseph Carey. She is also remembered by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and other loved ones who welcomed her into eternal rest.

DeAnn will be remembered for her kind spirit, love for family, and sense of humor. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 17, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waverly, Iowa.
