Joseph Pagel Obituary
Joseph Wayne Pagel was born on September 22, 1939, the son of Carl and Anna (Jurgens) Pagel in Waverly. He attended school in Plainfield. On November 27, 1970, he was united in marriage to Emma Kay Mollencopf at St. John's United Church of Christ – Pleasant Hill in rural Nashua. Joe worked for Hawkeye Steel in Waterloo, for Waterloo Silo Company and at IBP (Tysons) in maintenance before retiring.
He was a member of St. John's – Pleasant Hill rural Nashua. He enjoyed putting puzzles together, coffee with his friends, being outside and watching the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Surviviors are his wife, Emma Kay of Clarksville; three daughters, Kathy (Robert) Hennings of Tripoli, Kimberly (Ryan) Bradfield of Janesville and Karen (Dillon) Kalvig of Nashua; four grandsons, Brandon and Adam Hennings; Brayden and Cade Bradfield; two sisters, Myrna (Leonard) Klunder of Ankeny and Judy VanRaden of Hampton; brother, Richard (Jeanette) Pagel of Plainfield and sister-in-law, Janet Pagel of Nashua. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Duane Pagel, grandson, Justin Bradfield and brother-in-law, Orville VanRaden
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John – Pleasant Hill rural Nashua with Pastor Drew McHolm officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly. Memorials may be left to the family for a later designation in Joe's name or to the donor's choice and online condolences for Joe can be left at www.kaisercorson.com.
