Dr.Hellerich and I had many discussions concerning early Bethlehem. My ancestors go back to 1742 and others were married in the Great Wedding which took place in the Germine House in 1749. We also were active in the SAR and DAR which gave us more chances to go back in history. He was a good listener but a greater speaker. Enjoyed him very much. My deepest sympathy. Lorraine Farrell

Hellerich Family and Friends,
My deep sympathy to all especially his loving wife, Frieda. Mahlon really served his community, state and nation with his whole heart and soul. His contributions and friendship to all will be sorely missed. God Bless him as he now rests in peace with our Saviour. Sincerely,

I had the honor of getting to know Mahlon at Phoebe Home while visiting with Frieda as a hospice volunteer.
Each week Frieda and I would visit with him. She would always take his favorite, a banana, to him which he would really enjoy. We were able to attend a few of the homes "sing-a-longs"
together and Mahlon sang right along with us. I enjoyed the visits as much as Frieda did...what a wonderful man he was. I admired their 67 year marriage that still was filled with love and happiness when they were together. May God Bless him and may your families fond memories stay in your heart forever.

I noticed the passing of an associate I most repected ... I gladly worked on his Committee celebrating the 200th Anniversary of the USA ... Performed interviews of former WWII service in another one of his projects ... And I was deeply honored to he chose me to write a piece about my envolvement in the Bethlehem Steel for the Lehigh Historical Society 1996 Proceedings ... Rest in Peace Mahlon ...And to his survivors I give my condolances

I was sorry to hear of Mr. Hellerich's passing. I have fond memories of his years as President of the Pennsylvania German Society and serving on the board with him. He served in a distinguished manner and was always a gentleman. He took an interest in those of us who were younger and interested in the Pennsylvania German culture and always made it a point to talk to us.
Sincerely,
Dan Schwalm, Vice-President, PGS
