It makes my heart sad when I think of Steve not being here. Even more sad that my search for him was too late by a couple of weeks. One of my best memories of Steve was his love of muscle cars. Steve bought a Z28 while he was in Memphis and it was bad to the bone! We had a blast in it when we traveled up to my grandparents home in NW Tennessee. All of the local boys were so envious and jealous and all the local girls were interested and attentive.. Steve will always have a piece of my heart. I hope the loved ones he left behind know just how lucky we all are to have had him in our lives. Prayers for the family as they walk down memory lane.

Steve, Lonnie Sieler, Blake Jacobson, Don Thompson and I all served together in the Navy. We went to boot camp and then on to "A" school in Memphis as a group and were inseparable during those months together. During that time we also were fortunate to spend time with my family in north Tennessee and my grandparents thought Steve was a great guy (for a Yankee! LOL) Sadly, when we got sent to the fleet we lost track of Steve. I had been trying to find Steve for quite some time and discovered his obituary about two weeks after he passed. I truly regret that we weren't able to reunite before one of us slipped into eternity. In my heart I will always be blessed to have known Steve. Fair winds and following seas my friend and shipmate, rest in peace, we have the watch.

I have reached out to all of the guys that went through bootcamp and "A" school with Steve and we are so very sad that we weren't able to get together before Steve passed. We were a group of five that never went anywhere or did anything that we weren't together. Steve was with me when I asked my wife to marry me. So many great memories of riding around with Steve and his Z28. He is still so very missed. I would love to speak with Steve's family if they ever have a desire to. My cell number is 713-205-3456 and email is [email protected].

So sad to hear about Steve. I I was with in the Navy with Steve and Dick Polk. I met Steve in Tennessee at a school he was a great friend. I came home with him one weekend and he took me flying with a friend he always wanted to get his pilots license. My condolence To his family. We ended up in the same squadron in Lemoore California and on the Kitty Hawk together

This makes me so sad. I was in the Navy with Steve and me and three others have been looking for him for years. We were trying to set up a meeting for the five of us that went through boot camp and "A" school together. I would very much like to speak with Steve's wife and share a few of our memories. Steve was a shipmate and a brother, he will be missed.
