Carole N. Edginton (Lulu Edge), 58, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 20, 2025. She was born on November 4, 1966, in California, the daughter of Susan and Christopher Edginton.

Carole devoted her life to inspiring creativity and curiosity in children through her work as both an educator and author. Writing under the pen name Lulu Edge, she published more than two dozen children's books, including Buddha Bear, Nova the Butterfly Princess, Flower Refugee, Beautiful Babies Around the World, and Wisdom of the Ocean. Her work combined imagination with education, encouraging children to dream, learn, and believe in their own unique gifts.

A lifelong educator, Carole taught sociology, anthropology, and East Asian history at the University of Northern Iowa, Upper Iowa University, and Mount Mercy University. She earned her B.A. in Humanities from UNI, her M.A. in Asian Studies from Iowa State University, and pursued an Ed.D. (ABD) in Allied Health, Recreation, and Community Services at UNI.

Her dedication to global youth development spanned three decades with Camp Adventure Child and Youth Services, where she led programs in more than twenty countries. She also founded Glass Marble Adventures in Learning and Creative Wirks™, bringing art, science, and storytelling to children across the Midwest.

Carole is survived by her mother, Susan Edginton; daughters, Hanna and Lily Edginton; and brother, David Edginton.

Carole's celebration of life will be held at 11am, Thursday, October 30, 2025, in the worship center at Nazareth Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls, with visitation an hour prior.
