WATERLOO – Carolyn SUE Baldwin, 80 years old of Waterloo, Iowa, and formerly of Jesup, Iowa, died Monday, October 27, 2025, at her home.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 31, 2025, at the First Presbyterian Church in Jesup, with burial at Hazleton Cemetery, Hazleton, Iowa. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 4 to 6 p.m. also at the First Presbyterian Church in Jesup. Memorials will be directed Westminster Presbyterian Church in Waterloo and to First Presbyterian Church in Jesup. Online condolences may be posted at

Sue Baldwin was born October 12, 1945, in Oelwein, Iowa the daughter of Keith Fred Kunkle and Lois Marie (Hannaman) Kunkle. She graduated from Oelwein High School in 1964 and attended Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo for one year. On December 27, 1969, she was united in marriage to Ray Clifford Baldwin in Hazleton. The couple later divorced. Sue worked for the Iowa Department of Human Services until her retirement. She easily made friends and enjoyed, a good conversation. Her family and church family we her priorities. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Waterloo and a former member of First Presbyterian Church in Jesup.
Sue is survived by her children, Jammi (Rob) Welter of Gilbertville, Iowa, Jeffrey (Maggie) Baldwin of Doral, Fla., Brenda (David) Rushing of Monroe, N.C., and Betsy (Kyle) Borrett of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; one brother, Gordon (Mary Jo) Kunkle of Hazleton; one sister, Kathryn Knowles of Charlotte, N.C.; and sister-in-law, Deb Kunkle of Oelwein.
One daughter, Diane Baldwin (in infancy); her parents; two sisters, Mary Ann Kunkle (in infancy) and Margie Wihlm; one brother, Gaylen "Buck" Kunkle; and a brother-in-law, Richard Wihlm, preceded her in death.
