Carolyn J. (Mumm) Harken Hackwell, 84, of Jesup, IA, died Monday, February 5, 2024, at her home following a sudden illness.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 10, 2024, at the First Presbyterian Church in Jesup. Burial will be 1:00 p.m., Sunday, February 11 at Cedar Crest Cemetery in Jesup.
Visitation will be 4:00–7:00 p.m., Friday, February 9 at White Funeral Home, Jesup, and continue for an hour before services, Saturday, at the church.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Dale Hackwell; one daughter, Debra (David) Jacobs; one grandson, Nicholas (Melanie) Jacobs; one brother, Donald (Carole) Mumm; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Mumm, Karen (Roxie) Mulnix; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her step-children, Sherie (Doug) Firgard, Pamela Hackwell; Dale (Beth) Hackwell, Jr; as well as step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Merle "Butch" Harken, two brothers, LeRoy (Mary) Mumm, Ronald Mumm; one step-child, Kim Hoppock; and one step-grandchild, Jimmie Dale Hoppock.
Memorials: may be directed to the Jesup Ambulance Association, Jesup American Legion Post #342 or to the Independence American Flag Fund, established at BankIowa.
