Craig Bartlett Obituary

Craig A. Bartlett

February 24, 1954 - April 21, 2025

Craig A. Bartlett (71) went home to be with the Lord on April 21, 2025 at his home in Loganville, Georgia. He was born February 24,1954, to Jerald and Shirley (Evans) Bartlett in Waterloo, IA. Craig attended Black Hawk and Edison schools and graduated from West Waterloo High in 1972. His first jobs were with John Deere and Warren Transport. His father was amazed watching Craig as a young graduate drive fork lift trucks and huge Deere tractors. He enjoyed his retirement in 2022 from a pest control business he owned for many years.

While he enjoyed living in Florida and Georgia, he always considered himself to be an "Iowa boy." He enjoyed returning to Waterloo and taking cruises with his family but he was always glad to get home to Loganville. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Craig was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents: Kenneth and Cordelia Evans and Harold and Dorothy Bartlett. He is survived by his father, his loving wife of 40 years, Rosanne, his son Chad (Jamie), his daughters Brittany Thompson (Steven), and Lexi Carter. Also survived by five grandchildren who were very special to him: Jack, Gracie, Aniston, Addilyn and Nicholas.

He is also survived by three brothers: David (Linda), Ronald (Carol) both of Cedar Falls, IA and Michael (Gail) of Tea, SD two brother-in-laws: Mike (Trice) Abufaris, Ed (Linda) Abufaris and many nieces and nephews.

I remember Craig from when I lived in Waterloo. We went to the same church, and our parents would get together quite often. I am truly sorry for your loss.
Will definitely keep the family in our prayers.

So sorry to hear about one of my dear classmates and childhood friends. Before we could get our drivers license, Craig & I would ride bikes in the summer to Byrnes Park pool, sleep overnight sometimes outside in the Bartlett's Downing Avenue home carport, just looking up at the night sky, talking, laughing. He was a great athlete. I remember freezing our butts off waiting for his brother Mike's Corvair to warm up in the winter rides to West High. Once in particular the engine caught fire and we we only had snowballs to throw at it to try and try and put it out! Always was fun hanging around w Craig, a good, dependable, unselfish friend. God's peace to his spirit and to all his family who are feeling his loss.
