Craig Green Obituary
Craig Green
April 2, 1965 - November 4, 2025
Craig Green, 60, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.
Craig was born on April 2, 1965, in Waterloo, Iowa, to Sharon and Bill Green. He grew up in Waterloo where he graduated from Central High School. He then moved to Austin, Minnesota where he welcomed his two children, Kyler and Easton-his greatest joys. A proud and loving father, Craig was always eager to share his knowledge, his humor, and his time with his boys.
After settling in Austin, Craig spent a few years working at Quality Pork Processors before joining Gerard Treatment Facilities, where he was employed for more than 30 years. He spent the past 20+ years as the facility supervisor, overseeing daily operations and brightening the days of countless coworkers with his generosity, humor, and willingness to help with anything that came his way.
Craig lived by his routines-most notably a lunch of a turkey sandwich and a hard-boiled egg, followed by an after-work nap with Judge Judy playing in the background. For the rest of the evening he could be found tinkering in his garage, over at one of his sons' homes hanging out or working on a project, or playing cards or riding his Harley with Tami.
Craig loved the outdoors and adventure. He enjoyed fishing, mountain biking, skiing, traveling, and camping. He spent many happy days on the water-whether fishing in Canada or along the Mississippi with friends, often camping overnight on a sandbar.
Above all, Craig adored his three grandchildren. Whether watching their sporting events, taking them fishing, or spending special one-on-one days together, he cherished every moment with them.
Craig was the kind of person who would pull over to help a stranded driver or top off someone's tires before they left his house. He was always willing to listen when others were struggling and offered comfort through his quiet strength and acts of service-his true love language. Craig was known for his carefree spirit. He never dwelled on the past, always looked toward the future, and didn't sweat the small stuff.
Craig will be remembered for his generosity, his humor, and his big heart-he found joy in the simple things and in helping others every day.
Craig is survived by his sons, Kyler (Amanda) Green of Austin and Easton Green (Andrew Heavirland) of Rochester; grandchildren, Aubrey, Claire, and Tanner Green; mother, Sharon Green of Waterloo; sister, Chris (Steve) Smith of Waterloo; significant other, Tami Marr of Osage; a host of extended family members; coworkers; and many friends whom he cherished like family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Green; brother, Scott Green; and former spouse, Janice Green.
The family extends heartfelt appreciation to all those at Gerard that assisted and provided support that day, ensuring care and comfort in critical moments and remaining by our side.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Craig's memory by helping someone in need or performing a small act of kindness, just as he so often did.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., on Wednesday, November 12, at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary in Austin.
