Darlene Ann Hoffman, 92, of Waterloo, died on November 19, 2025, at the Deery Suites in Cedar Falls. She was born on May 29, 1933, in Waterloo, the daughter of Leo and Ilene (Fettkether) Hayes.
Darlene graduated from Dunkerton High School. On November 14, 1951, she was united in marriage to Raymond Hoffman, Jr.
Darlene was a farmwife, homemaker, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She enjoyed traveling and wintering in Texas with Ray. She was also active in many clubs and organizations and was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
Darlene was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her twin sister, Arlene Widdel. She is survived by her children, John (Diane), Teresa (Joe) Bartholomew, Denise (Jim) Bouska, and Ben (Rhonda) all of Waterloo; 13 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The visitation will be held at Hagarty Waychoff Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway Avenue on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. The visitation will continue for an hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to your favorite charity.
