Darrel L. Kramer, age 74, of Plainfield, Iowa, died Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community.

Darrel was born on March 16, 1951, in Charles City, Iowa, the son of Treno and Agnes (Linderkamp) Kramer. He was baptized on May 20, 1951, and confirmed on April 11, 1965, at St. John Lutheran Church in Clarksville, Iowa. Darrel graduated from Plainfield High School in 1969. He then went to Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon, Iowa to become a Power Lineman. On June 30, 1973, Darrel was united in marriage to Dixie Ruehs at St. John's Lutheran Church in Clarksville.

He worked at Hoppel Construction from 1969 to 1972 and then as a Power Lineman for Southern Iowa REC and Butler County REC for 38 years, retiring in 2012.

Darrel was a member of St. John Lutheran Church Western Douglas where he served as Deacon and Financial Secretary. He was also a member of Plainfield First Responders and Nashua Plainfield Booster Club. Darrel's greatest enjoyment in life was his family, spending time with them and attending their events, however he also liked fishing in Canada and bow and shotgun deer hunting.

Darrel's memory is honored by his wife, Dixie of Plainfield; three sons, Nathan (Kendra) Kramer of Bettendorf, Iowa, Nicholas (Kelsey) Kramer of Castle Rock, Colorado, and Alex (Allison) Kramer of Mosley, Virginia; six grandchildren, Reese, Sophie, William, Cooper, Evelyn, and Kellen; and five brothers, Bruce (Suzie) Kramer of Waverly, Perry (Diane) Kramer of Plainfield, Mike (Teresa) Kramer of Clarksville, Tim (Judi) Kramer of Cedar Falls, and Todd (Christina) Kramer of Waverly. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Douglas Kramer.

Grew up with Darrell and played football together. Good man, good player, always with a relaxed attitude, a bit on the quiet side but always reliable and a steady force. Great and loyal friend. Darrell had great 'fear' and respect for Treno!! (Some storeis need to remain untold!)
I will always remember Darrell as a "salt of the earth" believer whose strong and clear values never waivered. The world needs more like Darrell.
I pray for Darrell's soul and may the Holy Spirit comfort Dixie, their sons and the entire Kramer family. We will meet Darrell again in eternity.
Rest in eternal peace, Brother.
