Elaine Simenson Obituary

Elaine Marie Simenson passed peacefully in the early hours of February 13, at the age of 73. It was the 55th anniversary of her uniting in marriage with the love of her life, Chris, at the Queen of Apostles Catholic church in Riverdale, Ill., in 1971. Her husband and she resided in Iowa for nearly 45 years, most of which were in the Dunkerton School District. In her nearly 30 years as the school secretary, she watched hundreds of children grow from kindergarten to graduation and beyond. She was loved and respected by all in the community. Elaine was also active at St. Francis Barclay Catholic Church where she was a lector. She loved the community, and they loved her back.

Elaine is survived by her husband, Chris Simenson; three daughters, Michele Simenson (Robert Allen), Tracy Simenson (Rick Sagastume), and Laura Simenson. Elaine and Chris also have five grandchildren, Molly Sneddon (Dorian), Laura Vittengl, Tyler Simenson, Dylan Simenson, and Otto Simenson.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Bertha Ruebensam.

Plans for a Celebration of Elaine's Life in Dunkerton, Iowa, where her friends and family can attend are pending at this time.

Hello Chris, sorry to hear of the passing of your wife Elaine. I can tell you that these hard times will be better with the support of family. It's been two and half years since I lost Anna and life has got better but the whole left by her passing will never be filled. Jerry
