Betty and I were classmates all through school at Central Grade School, Junior High School and Oelwein High School. She was always invited to my b-day parties and I was invited to hers. We both had great mothers. That was back in the 1940's which were great years to be growing up, especially in Oelwein, Ia..

Betty and I were in the same grade at Central Grade School. Central Grade School was on 3rd. Ave. S.E. Betty lived on 3rd Ave. S.E, and I lived on 5th Ave. S.E. We were both very fortunate little girls. Betty had a mother who was very caring about Betty and her life, as my mother was the same. Both of our mothers always had yearly b-day parties for us. I was invited to her parties and she was invited to my parties. We were very fortunate to have grown up during those years.
