Gary Dean Bedard

February 10, 1968 - November 17, 2025

Gary Dean Bedard, 57, of West Des Moines, died Monday, November 17, 2025, at his home.

He was born February 10, 1968, in Waterloo, the son of Richard and Claudette Schares Bedard.

Gary graduated from Don Bosco High School in 1986. He then graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. He was employed with Financial Services DLL.

Survivors include his parents, Richard and Claudette Bedard of Gilbertville; his brother, Chad (Tammy) Bedard of Raymond; his nephew, Baylor (Abbie) Bedard; his niece, Tatum Bedard; and his great nephew, Jackson Bedard.

Preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Paul and Barbara Schares and his paternal grandparents, Joe and Agnes Bedard.

Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 25th at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial at Sancta Maria Cemetery, both in Gilbertville. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, November 24th, at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, Waterloo. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the Mass on Tuesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to Special Olympics or the Bosco System.
