Following Jeffery's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no public services held at this time. Memorial contributions may be directed in Jeffery's name to his family which will be later designated elsewhere. Jeffery S. Shafer was born on May 20, 1956 in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Gordon D. and Ruby C. (Jensen) Shafer. He graduated from Cedar Falls High in 1975. Jeffery had some health issues throughout his life but that didn't stop him for enjoying the life he lived. Jeffery workd at Goodwill. He loved being being with family and friends. He had a great wit and sense of humor, was an avid Cubs and Bears fan, and loved Godfathers pizza. Jeffrey was loved by those who knew him and he is going to be truly missed.
Left to cherish his memory are his siblings: Pat (Lloyd) Dove, Jack(Joan) Shafer, Robert(Roxy)Shafer of Cedar Falls and Ronald(Kay) Shafer of Arizona, along with several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Gordon and Ruby Shafer, and brothers Doug Shafer and Steve Shafer.
A celebration of life will be held at his childhood home on Walnut street in Cedar Falls, noon to 3:00, on September, 30, 2023.
