Judith Faber Obituary

Judith Ann Faber

October 21, 1945 - August 15, 2025

Judith Ann Faber, 79, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away Friday, August 15, 2025, at MercyOne Genesis Medical Center East, Davenport.

Judith was born in Dubuque, Iowa, on October 21, 1945, to Evlon Peter Faber and Helen Susan Werner. Raised in Fort Dodge, Iowa, she and her family moved to Waterloo, Iowa, a few years later. After graduating from high school, Judith's first job was with KWWL-AM radio in Waterloo, where she wrote advertising copy and worked alongside sales staff. She played a key role in helping them establish their FM band and worked for both channels.

Judith loved volunteering, working with Green Scene in Waterloo on tree preservation, and held board positions with the local United Way and Humane Society. She relocated to Port Townsend, Wash., and later Boston, Mass., working for the Port Townsend Marina and in sales for both greeting card company Alta House and goods importer Kenya Bag. Judith eventually came back to Iowa and settled in Davenport, working in sales for local radio and then finishing her career at Von Maur's Davenport locations. She was very successful with Von Maur, achieving the high level of Pacesetter.

Judith cherished her family and friends and was known for her generosity and genuine, infectious laugh. She was preceded in death by her father, E.P., and mother, Helen, and is survived by her son, John.

Memorial contributions in Judith's name to a favorite charity are welcome. Particular favorites of hers include St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and animal shelters or hospitals.
