Kenneth "Ken" R. Wymore, II

Kenneth "Ken" R. Wymore, II, 75, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, September 24, 2025, of natural causes at MercyOne Medical Center in Waterloo. He was born on October 7, 1949, in West Union, the son of Kenneth R. and Elma (Weltz) Wymore. Ken graduated from Waterloo East High School and lived most of his life in Black Hawk County. He worked in Dispatch Management for Warren Transport in Waterloo for 37 years, retiring in 2015.
Ken was a lifelong volunteer for the Waterloo Community Playhouse/Black Hawk Children's Theatre, where he met his future wife, Ellie (Lampman) Intemann. Ken and Ellie were married at the Playhouse on July 27, 1985, and raised their children, Kristin, Jonathan and Jeremy Intemann. They also cared for and helped raise three foster children, Tyra Nelson, Tammy Houdek and Heather Anderson.
Ken was also an active volunteer for the American Cancer Society and helped with many Relay for Life events across the Midwest. He was a man of enormous talent and generosity. The world is a darker place without his light, and he will be missed by many.
Ken is survived by his wife of 40 years, Ellie Wymore of Cedar Falls; six children: Jonathan Intemann of Waterloo, Jeremy (Robbyn) Intemann of Green Bay, Wis., Kristin Intemann (Pablo Coletes) of Belgrade, Mont., Tyra Nelson of Eagan, Minn., Tammy (Jim) Keeler of Gladbrook, and Heather Anderson (Michael McDaniel) of St. Louis, Mo.; five grandchildren, Dantarius Nelson-Jernagin, Kalim (Myaasha) Manigault, Amreah Alexander-Anderson, and Danielle and Ethan Keeler; two siblings, Scott (Connie) Wymore, and Alice (Jerry) Neith; his nieces and nephews; and miniature pinscher, Brownie. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ken's celebration of life will be held at 11 am, Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the Waterloo Community Playhouse/Black Hawk Children's Theatre Walker Building, 224 Commercial St., in Waterloo, with visitation starting at 10 am.
