I knew Larry through my parents' medical practice, where he worked for many years. I would help out around the office growing up when I didn't have school.
Larry would let me use his computer every so often to play Minesweeper when he wasn't using it.

When I was 11, I started reading Tolkien's books. My world became Lord of the Rings. I was delighted to discover Larry was a fan as well! He introduced me to the world of awe inspiring world of Tolkien fan art. And now I get to pass this library on to my niece.

I also have fond memories of excursions tagging along with his Boy Scout troup. And watching scary movies with Mary and Cliff, then attempting to sleep outside in a sleeping bag with an overactive imagination.

I will always remember Larry as an exceptionally kind and down to earth man. He will be missed. Sending lots of love to Marry, Cliff, Lourdes, and family.

Larry entered our lives as a job applicant to be an on-call transcriptionist in John´s medical practice. Larry had recently moved back to the Cedar Valley from the Philippines. In his ingrained can-do attitude, he convinced us that his military experience transcribing many foreign languages would enable him to pickup medical terminology with no problem. He did and worked for us ~20 years.

Larry would always arrive for work with his coffee thermos. We always exchanged a warm welcome. Sometimes he would come in still wearing his hunting clothes. Over the years, we were rewarded with beautifully filleted, freshly caught fish or a duck breast.

Over the years, he shared with us his pride in his children. He shared his avid involvement with the Boy Scouts. We became family friends. After watching Mary grow up from girlhood, it was thrilling to be at her wedding. It was there that we saw Larry in his dress uniform for the first and only time. So handsome!

After Dr. Milner-Brage retired, we saw Larry infrequently. He´d drop by at our Cedar Falls home and catch up on his and our family´s going-ons.

What an honorable and loving man Larry was! Knowing him was a gift.

We were so saddened to hear of his passing. Condolences to Lourdes, Mary & Clifford, their spouses and his grandchildren.

Larry was a dear friend and colleague from our time during the Vietnam War. He was one of our best and could always be counted on in a tight situation. A true leader. RIP, old friend
