Linda Davis
November 5, 1933 - April 4, 2025
Linda Lue Davis, 91, of Cedar Falls, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025, under Cedar Valley Hospice Care.
Linda was born on November 5, 1933, in Iowa City, to Harry and Viola (Heidt) Zimmerman. She graduated from Orange Township High School in 1951. Linda married Wilbur A. "Bill" Davis on June 12, 1954, at the iconic Little Brown Church in Nashua; he preceded her in death on September 21, 2019.
In 1947, Linda was baptized and became a lifelong member of the South Waterloo Church of the Brethren. Since the age of 14, she shared her musical gifts and talent by playing the organ and piano for Sunday Services, weddings, and funerals for over 60 years. Linda served on the church board, sang in the choir, and volunteered in the church office. Through their church, she and Bill delivered Meals on Wheels and volunteered for the local Salvation Army.
Linda worked as an Executive Secretary for Viking Pump for 19 years, retiring in 1984, where she will be remembered by strong work ethic, steady presence, and ever-present smile. In her spare time, Linda loved learning about her family's history, studying and compiling their genealogy and sharing her findings with family and extended family and scrapbooking.
Linda's life was a testament to the power of faith, music, and family. She will be dearly missed and joyfully remembered.
She is also preceded in death by her parents.
