Lonnie Hach, 62, of Farmers Branch, TX, formerly of Dysart, IA passed away 11/9/2024. Celebration of Life: Sat., 11/23/2024, from 1-4pm at Dysart United Methodist Church, 506 Tilford Dr, Dysart, IA 52224. Overton Funeral Home in charge of Arrangements.

Knowing Lonnie (LD to me) and being his friend, was a privilege and an honor. We were distant acquaintances until the sudden death of a mutual friend brought us together in an attempt to get answers and to process our shared grief. I came to learn that his approach to grief mirrored his approach to life - be honest, forthright, vulnerable, loving and gracious - with yourself and those you encounter. He had such a large impact on my life and set such an honorable example of how to live with integrity and honesty that I can say he´ll be a part of me for the rest of my life. Lonnie was steadfast, grounded, honest...he lived his life with empathy, sympathy and integrity. I mentioned to Becky when I met her to have lunch in his honor that an old phrase kept coming to my mind to describe him - he was the best example of being "a good man in a storm" - somebody that would be calm, collected, dependable and know what to do when times got tough and life turned into a storm. Becky said that resonated with her and asked me to share. Lonnie - LD - you were an amazing person that I´m grateful I got to know and call my friend. I wish I´d known you longer, but the echo´s of your impact and your memory will live on in me and all of those whose lives you touched. Rest well, my friend. You will be missed.
