CEDAR FALLS – Marilyn J. Bruce, 95, died Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at the Cedar Valley Hospice home in Waterloo.
She was born February 3, 1929, in Cedar Falls, IA, the daughter of Loren and Viola (Secor) Kelley. Marilyn graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1946. On April 30, 1949, she was united in marriage to Clair Bruce in Cedar Falls. They shared 75 years of marriage until his death April 23, 2024. She retired from the Cedar Falls School System in 1990 and was active at St. Patrick Catholic Church and the Cedar Falls AMVETS Post #49 Auxiliary.
Marilyn is survived by her sons, Douglas G. (Roxanne Stone) and James (Kathy) Bruce, both of Cedar Falls, and Steven (Nan Rogers) Bruce of Spokane, WA; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by parents; husband; brother, Lt. Col George Kelley; two sisters, Joanne Englehart and one in infancy; and two daughters-in-law, Becky Bruce and Liz Sinclair.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 3, 2024 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Cedar Falls with visitation one hour prior. Inurnment in Greenwood Cemetery in Cedar Falls at a later date.
Memorials may be directed to the church or the Cedar Falls AMVETS Post #49 Auxiliary. Online condolences at www.richardsonfuneralservice.com.

Fortunately for Roy and I we have been part of your parents "extended" family for 40+years. Although our hearts are saddened for the loss of them we are happy they are together and most of all they are not struggling.
You as a family were lucky to have them in your lives for so many years, it has truly been a blessing for all that knew them!.
