Michael "Gus" Stevens
September 29, 1957 - July 10, 2024
Michael "Gus" Stevens was born September 29, 1957, in Georgetown, Ohio, son of Robert and Bernice (Reynolds) Stevens. He married Deb McAhren on October 25, 1977, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Gus played softball for many years, he was a hall of famer. He liked to play pool, throw darts and enjoyed traveling. Gus loved spending time with his friends, family and his grandkids, he enjoyed attending all of their sporting events. He was a huge sports fan, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Cleveland Browns.
Gus passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at UnityPointHealth, at the age of 66. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Tina Callahan. Gus is survived by his wife, Deb of Waterloo; son, Michael (Stephanie Smock) Stevens of Waverly; two daughters, Melissa (Shane) Nolan of LaPorte City and Ashley (Charles) Arceneaux of Waterloo; 10 grandchildren, Cierra, Lexi, Jeremy, Chy'la, Charlee, Bella, Carter, Penelope, Charles Jr. and Ali; three brothers, Jerry (Sherry) Stevens of Texas, Robert (Jill) Stevens of Arkansas, and Travis Mullins of Arkansas; sister, Ann Boswell of Georgia and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
Visitation: Monday, July 15, 2024, 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, with an hour prior to services on Tuesday, at Parrott and Wood Chapel of Memories, 965 Home Plaza, Waterloo.
Service: Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at 10:30 am at Parrott and Wood Chapel of Memories
Burial: Following service at Garden of Memories in Waterloo.
