Richard B. Kettman, 72, of La Porte City, died Tuesday, August 26, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics.
He was born December 17, 1952, in Waterloo, the son of Joseph and Gertrude Delagardelle Kettman. He married Mary Weber on April 15, 1972, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Waterloo.
Rick was employed as a route salesman with Pepsi Cola for 42 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, playing basketball, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Mary of La Porte City; his children, Dr. Matthew (Chris) Kettman of Cedar Falls, Erin (Dan) Hogan of La Porte City, Emily Kettman of Waterloo, and Mike (Stacy Wilson) Kettman of Waterloo; seven grandchildren; his brothers, Joel (Betty) Kettman of Oklahoma, David (Jeri) Kettman of Montana, and Tom (Ann) Kettman of Waterloo; his sisters, Nancy (Ken) Schuler of Waterloo, Beth (Rick) Ahlhelm of Evandale, Peggy Kettman Dunn of West Virginia, Mary D. (Chris Jansen) Kettman of Virginia, and Kristi (Will) Keller of Cedar Falls.
Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Gertrude Kettman.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 3, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial at St. Mary's Cemetery, both in Gilbertville. There will be a 3:30 p.m. Rosary on Tuesday, September 2, at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, followed by visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Visitation also one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Wednesday.
