Roger Rasing, 87, of Ankeny, Iowa entered into peace, August 25, 2025, at Taylor Hospice House in Des Moines, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 12 to 1 p.m., prior to the service at Blessed Sacrament. Memorials may be directed to Roger's family.

Roger Alvis Rasing was born on October 1, 1937, at St. Joseph's Hospital in New Hampton, Iowa. Roger was one of six children born to Henry and Elizabeth Rasing. His siblings were Edwin (Anna Marie) Rasing, Alverna (Virgil) Schneider, Father Linus E Rasing, Leo (Rita) Rasing and Darlene (Larry) Carver. All preceded him in death as well as his parents. He was also preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Ray and Romana Lentz; sister-in-law, Jeanne Lentz; his cousin, best friend, and best man, Robert Tillman.

Roger attended and graduated from St. Boniface Catholic School in Ionia, Iowa in 1955. He worked at Rath Packing Company until it closed, Toby's Tax, and BG Construction. He was united in marriage to Kathleen Lentz on September 9, 1958, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in North Washington, Iowa. Roger and Kathy welcomed six children, Nancy, David, Dennis, Dan, Mary Jo and Jackie.

Roger enjoyed playing cards with his family. He also enjoyed hiking and was able to hike with David to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and also hiked down Pike's Peak with his son and granddaughter, Sarah. He loved watching old Lone Ranger episodes. Roger enjoyed Wintering in Alamo Rose Park in Alamo, Texas with Kathy for the last 26 years.

Roger is survived by his wife, Kathy; and his children, Nancy Rasing of Des Moines, Iowa, David (Denise) Rasing of Altoona, Iowa, Dennis (Shayne) Rasing of Fort Worth, Texas, Dan (Amy) Rasing of Springfield, Illinois, Mary Jo Rasing of Durham, North Carolina and Jackie Rasing of Des Moines, Iowa. He is also survived by his four grandchildren he was very proud of, Chelsea Rasing of Houston, Texas, Joshua Rasing of Madison, Wisconsin, Tyler Rasing of Springfield, Illinois and Sarah Rasing of Valparaiso, Indiana; his brother-in-law, Ron Lentz (Julie) of Rockford, Illinois; and sister-in-law, Joyce Schmitz (Larry) of Des Moines, Iowa.
