Verlyse "Verly" Pollow
July 30, 1936-December 24, 2022
Verlyse "Verly" Pollow was born July 30, 1936, in Sumner, Iowa, the son of Lester and Clara (Wenthe) Pollow. He married Marilyn Larson August 19, 1957, in Sumner, Iowa. Verly worked at Titus Manufacturing for 23 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and gardening. Verly was an avid sports fan, especially for the Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears.
Verly passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2022, at UnityPointHealth – Allen Memorial, at the age of 86. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Marvin Pollow and sister, Lavonne Lamphier. Verly is survived by his wife, Marilyn of Waterloo; son, Greg (Cindee) Pollow of Waterloo; two daughters, Cindy (Mike) Tryon of Solon and Melanie (Jamie) McDonald of Davidson, North Carolina; seven grandchildren, Brett, Laura, Sarah, Michael, Brandon, Zachary and Danielle; nine great-grandchildren, Aleah, Alexa, Alayna, Audrey, Carter, Magnolia, Elliot, Hudson and Noah and two brothers: Chuck (Carol) Pollow of Peoria, Illinois and Gene (Marijune) Pollow of Sioux City, Iowa.
Visitation: Tuesday, January 3, 2023, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, 965 Home Plaza, Waterloo, Iowa. And a visitation from 10:00 am until service time at the church.
Services: Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at 11:00 am, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 420 Harwood Ave., Waterloo, Iowa.
Burial: Garden of Memories
