Abner William "Bill" Straughan III

STRAUGHAN, Abner William "Bill", III, 63, resident of Prattville, AL, passed away in his sleep on Thursday, October 9, 2025. Memorial service will be held at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Friday, October 17, 2025 at 1:00 pm with Dr. Travis Coleman and Rev. Dave Burns officiating. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial on Thursday evening from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Friday one-hour prior to the service. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Abner and Sue Straughan. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Bitzi Vaughan Straughan; two daughters, Brittany and Brooke Straughan; sister, Laura Reid (Dave); extended family and friends. Bill was a member of First Baptist Church Prattville. He was known by many from his business Bill's Sure Trim Inc, Bill and his green truck. He was active in the community through many organizations including ACT (Autauga Christmas Team), AICC (Autauga Interfaith Care Center) and the Prattville Band. He was also a member of the Civitans earlier in life. Bill loved to talk about his love of the outdoors including hunting and fishing. We hope he is with his family and pets with a line in the water showing everyone the ropes. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his honor to Autauga Christmas Team and Autauga Interfaith Care Center.
