Donald Wallace Obituary

Donald (Don) Wallace, age 90, a resident of Prattville, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 27, 2025, and went home to be with the Lord.

Born on September 18, 1935, in Charlotte, NC, Don lived a life marked by kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. A proud United States Army veteran, Don served his country with honor and carried that same spirit of service into every aspect of his life.

Following his time in the Army, Don went on to build a successful career as a District Sales Manager with the C.F. Sauer Company where he worked until his retirement in 1997.

Don was a man of strong and active faith who loved the Lord and lived his life guided by Christian values. As an active member of Robinson Springs Church, Don utilized his creative skills in woodworking by building replicas of the church, birdhouses that graced the church property and even a Christmas card mailbox for the congregation. Don regularly maintained the church sign with clever and poignant messages each week and helped to keep the church grounds manicured beautifully. He became known as the "cross man" as he made crosses to give to every person in the church and in the surrounding communities. His witness and testimony of Christ's love and salvation was never a question - he approached friend and stranger alike.

Don enjoyed golfing, watching Duke basketball, yearly vacation trips to Maggie Valley, NC, painting, woodworking, and spending time with his family.

Mr. Wallace was preceded in death by his parents, Columbus and Ethel Wallace; and his siblings, Baxter Wallace, Barney Wallace, Russell Wallace, Elwood Wallace, and Dennis Wallace.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Gloria Wallace; three daughters, Donna Cox (Alan), Tamara Martin (Billy), and Debbie West (Harold); one son, Scott Wallace (Suzan); five grandchildren; Leann Anderson (John), William Martin, Donnie Martin, Shane Cox, Lauryn Wallace; Eleven great-grandchildren; Bo Anderson, Gracey Anderson, Will Martin, Lillie Martin, Bill Martin, Piper Martin, Bryson Martin, Noah Cox, Caleb Stanley, Jaxon Mooney, Bradley Basler and a host of extended family members and friends who will deeply miss him.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Prattville Memorial Chapel, with Reverend Janet Krantz officiating. Burial will follow at Prattville Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial directing. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Friday one hour prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Alan Cox, Billy Martin, Harold West, Donnie Martin, Will Martin, and William Martin.

A luncheon for the friends and family of Don Wallace will be hosted by Robinson Springs Church (5980 Main St., Millbrook) after the graveside service.
