Eileen "Anne" Perkins

1925 - 2023

Watertown, WI - Eileen "Anne" Perkins of Park Terrace, Marquardt Manor Watertown, died peacefully of natural causes on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at the age of 97. Anne was born on August 17, 1925, in Norfolk, England the daughter of Eileen Morgan and Dr. John Rammell.

Anne is survived by her children, Stephen, Richard (Elizabeth), Juliet (Tim) Slavens, and Helena (Eugene) White; 7 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Mary Anderson and John Rammell; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Anne is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Edward "Terry" Perkins and daughter-in-law, Arda Ishkhanian.

Anne trained as an Occupational Therapist during World War Two. After the war, she worked as an OT in England. She married Terry in 1952, and they had four children. They were married for over 60 years by the time he died in 2015. Anne, Terry, and their daughter Helena moved to Iowa City, Iowa, in 1979 for Terry's work at the University of Iowa. Anne was not able to continue her work as an OT, so decided to pursue her long-time interest in art at the University of Iowa. She became an accomplished abstract artist and regularly exhibited her work in Iowa City, and this year exhibited her needlepoint works at the James Watrous Gallery in Madison's Overture Center.

Anne loved art, birdwatching, gardening and fishing, as well as exploring different parts of the country with Terry, especially the Southwest. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and a wonderful and supportive mother to her four children. Anne drew strength and inspiration from her art, particularly with the creation of her needlepoint works during Covid. Anne was also grateful for the good care she received at Marquardt Manor.
