Watertown, WI - Elsie May Saunders, 81, of Watertown, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025 at The View in Johnson Creek.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown. Relatives and friends may gather at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Watertown. Memorials, if desired, would be appreciated to Alzheimer's Association. Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Watertown is serving the family. Elsie was born on February 24, 1944, in Waukegan, IL to Elroy and Esther (nee Rossman) Smith. She married Robert J. Saunders Jr. on September 4, 1965. They shared 52 years of marriage together before his death on July 23, 2018.

Elsie's favorite activities were bowling with her husband, daughters and sister. Golfing with her husband, son and godson. She enjoyed listening to and dancing to polka music and 60's music. She also enjoyed sewing along with doing puzzles.

She is survived by her children: Barbara (Derrick) Bauer of Watertown, Scott (Lory) Saunders of Bartlett, IL, and Carol Saunders of Watertown; grandchildren: Ashley Richter, Melanie Saunders, Zachery Saunders; great-grandson, Charles Grubbs; sister, Myrtle Stauche; three nephews; as well as other relatives and friends.

Elsie was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bob.
