Michael English Obituary
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 11:30 a.m.at Hafemeister Funeral Home. Family and friends may gather at Hafemeister Funeral Home from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Military honors will take place immediately following. Memorials, if desired may be directed to AMVETS. Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service is serving the family. Online condolences may be at www.hafemeisterfh.com.
Michael "Mike" Alvin English was born February 19, 1946, in Albert Lea, MN, the son of Alvin and Dolores (nee Gladowski) English. After graduating from Jefferson High School, Mike enlisted in the United States Navy, stationed in Kodiak, Alaska working communications.
Mike married Sharon "Sheri" Mahoney on December 11, 1994, in Las Vegas. She preceded him in death on January 16, 2024. Mike dedicated many years of service to the community through his work as a Plant Operator at the Watertown Water Department. Following his retirement, he and Sheri began a new chapter as the proud owners and operators of SE-ME Entertainment.
A social man, Mike loved spending time with family and was always ready to share a joke. He had a deep appreciation for music, enjoyed bowling and was also a proud member of AMVETS. He especially loved playing cards with family and friends, where laughter and friendly competition always filled the room.
Mike is survived by his daughter Erica (Peter) Bothe; stepchildren, Vicky Ruppert, Scott (Wendy) Umland, Cheryl (Charles) Pasewald, Becky Gigl, Jeremy Umland; stepson-in-law, Greg Underwood; grandchildren, Madelyn and Avery Bothe; numerous step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; siblings, Bonnie (Mike) Miles, Charles (Jackie) English, Anthony (Carol) English, Andrew (Elizabeth) English, Margie Litterski, and Julie English; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mike is further preceded in death by his parents; son, Matthew English; sisters, Barb (Jack) Sokolik, Marie English; brother-in-law, Pete Litterski; his first wife, Sharon Ann English (nee Biefeld); and step-children, Holly Umland, Lisa Underwood and Craig Umland.
