Robert Lee Braatz

1943 - 2025

Janesville, WI - Robert Lee Braatz of Janesville, WI passed away on August 15, 2025, with his loving family by his side following a courageous and lengthy battle with a multitude of medical challenges. Robert was born on September 19, 1943 in Beaver Dam, WI to Everette and Edna (Wendt) Braatz. In 1962, he graduated from Watertown High School. Robert married Ellen Hooper on April 16, 1966.

Robert served his country in the Army from 1964-1966 during the Vietnam War. He later worked in law enforcement with the Lake Mills Police and the Lake Mills Township Lake Patrol. Robert was a real estate broker as well as a vehicle salesman. Golf was his passion and he made a coveted hole-in-one on May 17, 1989.

Robert is survived by his wife, Ellen; his son, Steven (Christine); and grandchildren, Brylind, Brandon, Jessica (Brenden) Voyles, and Jacob. He is further survived by siblings, Jerry, Jon, and Julie. His sister, Chritine Tremaine, preceded him in death.

The family would like to express their extreme appreciation to the Agrace Hospice staff for their outstanding care and support to Robert and the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorials for the Rock County Sheriff's K-9 Program.

A service will be held at LAKE MILLS MORAVIAN CHURCH, 301 College Street, Lake Mills, WI on Sunday, August 24 at 2 p.m. with Pastor David Sobek officiating. Military rites will be accorded at the church following the services. There will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held at Club 55, 603 East Lake St., Lake Mills, immediately following the service. Guests are welcome to wear casual attire.
