Ixonia, WI - Robert J. Hackbarth, 86, of Ixonia, WI passed away on Wednesday July 2, 2025, at Angels Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc, WI.

A funeral service will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lebanon, WI on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Daniel Repp officiating. Family and friends may gather for visitation at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery in Lebanon. Memorials, if desired, would be appreciated to Immanuel Lutheran Church of Lebanon and Angels Grace Hospice of Oconomowoc.

Robert Julius Hackbarth was born on August 11, 1938, in Watertown, WI the son of Norden and Esther (Borchardt) Hackbarth. Robert was united in marriage to Arlene Kuester on August 27, 1960 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ixonia, WI and they enjoyed almost 65 years of marriage together.

Robert proudly served our country in the United States Army. After his military service, he worked at Brandt Automatic Cashier in Watertown for a few years, and then worked for Carnation Company in Oconomowoc and retired from there in 1995.

During Robert's lifetime he enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting ducks, pheasants, deer, and turkeys as well as fishing for bluegills. Robert liked to play card games such as sheepshead and euchre as well as family cookouts with a game or two of farkle. He loved spending time out at his cabin taking long walks with Arlene.

Robert is survived by his wife, Arlene Hackbarth; his children, Robin (Jeff) Phillips of Wickenburg, AZ and Ruth (Ron) Briski of Oconomowoc; grandchildren, Hailey Briski of Tampa, FL and Amanda Briski of Oconomowoc; siblings, Betty Damrow and Jerry (Sherry) Hackbarth; and brother-in--law Roger Krause; as well as other cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dianne Krause, brother-in-law, Albert Damrow and nephew, Peter Hackbarth.
