Ruth Jackson Obituary

Johnson Creek, WI - Ruth J. Jackson, 98, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025, with family by her side.

A funeral service will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church in Johnson Creek, WI on Monday May 19, 2025 at 11 a.m. The Rev. Dale Vlastnik will officiate. Family and friends may gather for visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Johnson Creek immediately following the service. Memorials, if desired, can be made to St. John's Lutheran Church in Johnson Creek. Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Watertown is serving the family. Ruth Jeanette Milbrath was born on October 27, 1926 to parents Fred and Edna (Zimmerman) Milbrath on their family farm in Johnson Creek. She graduated valedictorian from Johnson Creek High School and attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Ruth was united in marriage to Walter "Stoney" Jackson on April 26, 1947 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Johnson Creek. The joy of Ruth's life was raising her five children. She had been employed by Equity Livestock Auction Market.

Ruth had a very strong faith and was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She participated in many church organizations and groups, including choir, and Women of the ELCA. Ruth was active in community groups, such as American Legion Auxiliary, working at the Village election polls, serving a term on the school board, and a member of the Historical Society. Ruth was a most gracious host. She loved entertaining her family for holiday dinners and other events. She spent her free time playing cards, board games, putting together puzzles, and attending activities at the Senior Center. Ruth also enjoyed shopping and traveling.

Ruth is survived by her children, James (Jacqueline) Jackson, Rita (Jerry) Mosher, Joan (Brian Janke) Ready, Lori (Mark) Mecikalski, and son-in-law, Daniel Majeska; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter Jackson; daughter, Susan Majeska; and her great grandson, Luke.
