Doris Mallory Obituary

WELLSVILLE - Doris C. Mallory, age 92, of Florida Avenue passed away on Monday (Feb. 13, 2017), at the Wellsville Manor Care Center. She was born on April 3, 1924, in Allentown, to Lloyd and Margaret Link Swarthout. On Nov. 3, 1946, in the First Trinity Lutheran Church, she married Floyd Mallory, who predeceased her on June 22, 2016.

Doris was the Valedictorian of Allentown High School class of 1941. She had been employed as a draftsman at Air Preheater and later earned her LPN and worked at Jones Memorial Hospital. Doris enjoyed bowling, cooking, walking, as well as crafts that include sewing, and knitting. She was a member of TOPS and the Trinity Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed Bible Breakfast, sang in the choir and was a member of the Ladies Aid Society.

Survivors include 2 sons, Glenn (Debra) Mallory of Grand Junction, Colo., and Roger (Patricia George) Mallory of Wellsville; 2 daughters, Margaret "Peggy" Stallworth of Mumford and Mary Alice (Kelly) Monroe of Wellsville; 4 grandchildren, Joshua Stallworth, Terrence Monroe, Matthew Monroe and Christine (John) Ressler; a brother, James Swarthout of Old Orchard, Maine.

Doris was predeceased by her parents, her husband and her sister, June Gensamer.

There will be no prior visitation and memorial service will be planned for a later date. Memorials in Doris's name may be made to the First Trinity Lutheran Church of Wellsville. To leave online condolences, please visit www.embserfuneralhome.com.
