Amanda St. John Obituary

Amanda Ann (Mandy) St. John
March 15, 1984 - February 14, 2026
The angels are singing and the heavens are celebrating the homecoming of God's
beloved child Amanda Ann (Mandy) St. John. Born in Wenatchee, Washington, March 15, 1984, Amanda bid her earthly home farewell on February 14, 2026 – Valentine's Day – the most fitting of days for her sweet soul.
Diagnosed in September 2022 with terminal cancer, we didn't expect Mandy to see Christmas that year. But her determination, grit, spunk, and perseverance gave us three bonus years with her where she was an inspiration to everyone who was privileged to witness her journey.
Cancer wasn't the first battle Mandy had fought – as a female with Asperger's Syndrome (high-functioning autism), Mandy blazed trails throughout her life. She was the first student in the Wenatchee schools to be recognized with Asperger's, and she opened the door for Asperger's to be considered a medical disability. Despite her challenges, Mandy truly embraced life with an independent and strong-willed spirit.
When Mandy had the opportunity to work as a library aide, she commented, "Working at the library would be cool, and getting paid would be a bonus!" Thus began her lifelong career working for many years at the Wenatchee Library before moving to Wyoming in June 2020 and working at the Campbell County Library. Mandy LOVED books and could be found reading up to ten books at one time with way more books checked out at any given time than any human being should! She also enjoyed sewing by hand – creating clothes for her cherished dolls and many gifts for her loved ones.
Many will remember Mandy as the red-headed gal walking everywhere. She loved spending time in local coffee shops reading her books and listening to music of many genres. She was a generous soul, especially to the underprivileged.
Along with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Mandy was welcomed into Heaven by her grandparents John and Myrtle Forgey and Don and Alene St. John and four cousins.
She will be greatly missed by her father Chuck St. John of Wenatchee; her mother and stepfather Patty and Mark Junek and her sister Becky and Dustin Bungert and nephew Brantley of Gillette, Wyoming; and her sister Kelly St. John and nephew Kaiden Hutchins of Virginia. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and two very beloved and sad kitties Betsy Ross and Paul Revere.
A memorial service will be held at 1 pm Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Journey Church in Gillette, Wyoming.
Memorials may be made to a special fund for Mandy's brother-in-law Dustin Bungert who is himself preparing for a life-saving liver transplant – Dustin Bungert Transplant Fund at Campco Federal Credit Union (PO Box 3169, Gillette, WY 82717). Friends may leave written condolences to the family on Mandy's obituary page located on the funeral home's website: www.LeveringtonFH.com
