James Lee Ledgerwood
July 12, 1938 - February 20, 2025
James Lee "Jimmy Lee" Ledgerwood, 86, passed away Thursday,February 20th, 2025, at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee, Washington surrounded by his loving family.He was born July 12th,1938 in Union Hospital, Terre-Haute, Indiana to Harold Dow Ledgerwood Sr. and Mary Susan (Thomson) Ledgerwood.
James' family moved to Onterio Oregon in 1948, where his father took a job with the newly formed Bureau of Reclamation as a Ditch Rider. In the early 50's James' family moved to Washington State for the newly formed Columbia Basin Water Project. James graduated high school in Ephrata, Washington in May of 1956, where he met the love of his life, Dora Mae Dreyer, they married on December 30th,1956. in Soap Lake.
He went to work for Boeing in Seattle on the B-52 Bomber project and in 1958, started working for the Grant County PUD as a groundsman. James retired from Grant County PUD after 30 years of service working up to Chief Dispatcher. Jim and Dora moved to Redding, California where he helped to establish a new dispatch office. He retired from City Of Redding after 7 years of service. In 2000, Jim and Dora returned to Ephrata where he continued to work as a consultant and enjoyed working around their retirement home until moving to East Wenatchee in 2022. Jim loved fishing, hunting, camping and working part-time for Wal-Mart repairing bicycles. He is preceded in death by his Parents; brother, Harold; sister, Betty; daughter,Tracy; grand-daughter, Heather; and grandson JL of Utah and Cousin Donnie of Indiana. He is survived by his wife of 68 years Dora; children; daughter, Julie "Lyle"; Son, David; daughter Vicki "Peter"; Uncle Rodney; Cousin Jim; Anne; Stephen of Canada; Donnie of Loogootee; sister-in-law, Patsy. Grandchildren: Harley,Brie,Kimerly, Crystal, "Chris", James "Nikki"; Roland. Great Grandchildren: Brayden, Maxwell, William, Rowan and Lilith; and many loving nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life ceremony for friends and family will be held in the spring at a time/date to be determined.
*James Lee Ledgerwood was and always will be the best dad. All the people in his life he loved so much. He was bigger than life and will be missed dearly. We love you dad.
