Norma Vanderheyden Obituary

Norma Belle Vanderheyden
August 31, 1928 - March 1, 2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Norma Belle Vanderheyden, who passed away on March 1, 2025, at the age of 96.
Born on August 31, 1928, in Festus, MO, she grew up in Festus and later moved to St Louis, MO. She was a dedicated and loving wife to her late husband, Gene Vanderheyden, and a devoted mother to her children, Joy and Ted, and grandmother to Joy's two daughters, Rachel and Gabrielle, and great-grandmother to Rachel's son, Elijah.
Norma lived a fulfilling life and was a woman of many talents. Her passion was volunteering and helping others. Norma was always an active member in the church choir wherever she lived across the country. She was a kind and generous soul, always putting others' needs before her own. Her love and compassion extended to all those who knew her, and she will be remembered for her kindness and warm personality.
She is survived by her daughter, Joy Johnson; and son, Ted Vanderheyden (Shelley); two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, who will miss her dearly.
A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church (Wenatchee). In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a favorite charity, or the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society in memory of Norma Vanderheyden.
Rest in peace, dear mother. You will forever be in our hearts and memories.

So sorry to hear of your mom's passing. We saw each other every now and then. She always remembered me. She called when my mom passed and she helped cheer me up. She was truly a Blessed Lady. Fond memories of her

To Norma's family,
I was one of the many people who knew Norma because of her volunteer work. I had the pleasure of working with Norma years ago when we were both on the local American Cancer Society board of directors. I will never forget her kindness and warm personality. She was a highly valued volunteer for the ACS and made essential contributions.
With my condolences,
Kate Bratrude
