The Lucero Family is deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved Regina "Mom" Lucero on November 25, 2025, in Wenatchee, Washington. Regina was born on September 7, 1938, in La Union, New Mexico, to Alberto Perez and Josefina Little. She grew up in Canutillo, Texas, surrounded by her four brothers and four sisters. In 1955, she married the love of her life, Gumicindo Lucero Sr., and together they built a family rooted in love and faith. She is survived by her children: Gumisindo Jr., Alberto Sr. (Gricelda), Dora (Vernon), Leticia (Juan), Paul Angel, Ruben (Jessica), and grandson Alberto Jr. (Danise). Regina's legacy continues through her 24 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Boni and Victor Perez, and her sister Nena Silvas. She was preceded in death by her son Hector Lucero Sr. and her husband Gumicindo Lucero. Regina's life was marked by hard work and dedication. She began her career at the Old El Paso Cannery before becoming a chef for the Canutillo School District. In 1966, The Lucero family moved to South El Monte, California, and later to Porterville, California, where Regina continued her profession as a cook for the Porterville Hospital and School District. In 1979, she relocated to Orondo, Washington, where she changed her profession to an Agricultural Expert and worked for Grady Auvil for the next 35 years. A proud "full-blooded Navajo" Native, Regina was a devoted believer in Christ and lived faithfully by her values. She loved her family deeply, always opening her home to those in need. Her compassion extended to animals, and she cherished her pets. Known for her warmth, storytelling (chisme), and wisdom, she taught her family to trust in God and leave all things in His hands. The Lucero family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to all who were part of Mom's life-family, friends, and the caring staff at River West. A memorial mass will be held on Friday, December 5 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church at 11:00 am, followed by a graveside service at Wenatchee City Cemetery.
