Sequoya Aberhart Obituary

Sequoya L. Aberhart beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend, transitioned from this life on September 20, 2025. Sequoya Aberhart, born on March 11, 1988, in Springfield, Massachusetts, to Carman Aberhart and Derrick Suber.
Sequoya was preceded in death by her protective brother Derrick, whom she loved dearly and grandparents Clinton Mitchell, Sr. Willie Suber, Sr. and Shiarlene Jackson. She is survived by her four siblings, Jamel Suber, Cyra Suber, Jade Suber, and Zeke Peters, as well as her grandmother, Lola Mitchell, godmother Anita Rice, uncles Clinton Mitchell, Jr. and Anthony Mitchell, aunt Angela Mitchell and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A dedicated student from a young age, Sequoya attended Duggan Middle School and Sci-Tech before transferring to Chicopee High School, where she graduated in 2006. Known as a bookworm, she was deeply committed to her education, striving for excellence and never settling for less than an A in her studies. After high school, Sequoya moved to Athens, Georgia, pursuing nursing at GA Tech but later discovered her true passion for cooking and the culinary arts.
Returning to Massachusetts, she enrolled at Holyoke Community College to pursue culinary studies. During this time, Sequoya embraced motherhood, welcoming her daughter Genesis and later her son Austin. She was a devoted and loving mother, deeply family-oriented, and cherished her children above all else.
Sequoya was known for her quiet, observant nature and her introverted spirit. Her favorite color was green and she loved sunflowers. She was trustworthy, honest, and avoided drama, preferring peace and sincerity in all her relationships. Her passion for natural, healthy living was evident in her homemade teas and health products, and her culinary skills were admired by many. Stylish and gracious, she naturally drew people to her and was recognized for her genuine kindness, loyalty, and generosity.
Sequoya leaves behind a loving legacy through her children and her mother, and she will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her life was a testament to love, dedication, and quiet strength.
May her memory be a blessing to all who loved her. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Sequoya, please visit our floral store.

I was so fortunate to have worked with Sequoya for the last two years. She taught me much about grace, strength. And humor. Her deep love and dedication to her children was a lesson in truth, fierceness, and unwavering and clear teaching.
I am changed for the better by having had Sequoya Aberhart in my world.
Grateful.
Her memory is a blessing.
