FUNERAL HOME

Tracey Gartman Obituary

Today, we gather to honor the life and legacy of Tracey Michelle Gartman, born June 6th of 1964 to Josephine Smith and Willie Thomas in Springfield, MA and peacefully departed June 28th, 2025 at the age of 61. She was the oldest sibling to Raymond Gartman, Derrick Gartman, Marcella Gartman, and Elton "Stuff" Gartman. Tracey wasn't the kind of person that you met and then forgot. That's because she wouldn't forget you. She had a way of leaving a piece of herself with you every time you saw her. Whether it was through a laugh, a story or a straight up truth you needed to hear, or just that love she shared with everybody. Tracey graced us with her presence in a way few ever could - with style, wisdom, jokes, confidence, and a fierce sense of empowerment. She was tough when she needed to be, always real, and never afraid to speak her mind. She gave tough love when it mattered most, stood strong and carried herself as an impactful figure a lot of us didn't know we needed - until she showed up. Whether you knew her for a moment or a lifetime, she was a force to be reckoned with and made her impact in your life. Left to mourn those great moments are her only child Jayson McIvery, and her five grandchildren Jayda, Jayson, Jru, Jax, and Jayden. Which she loved and admire deeply. As well as many nieces, nephews, family members, and a wide loving circle of friends and loved ones. Tracey was loved by many.
