I played football for Pattonville Holman Jr. High when Bobby played for one of Ferguson-Florissant´s junior high schools (Cross Keys?) Both teams finished 6-0 as freshmen. Didn´t play each other. We convinced ourselves that we were better. The next year McCluer North came to Pattonville for his first varsity game as a sophomore. He destroyed us pretty much by himself. Sorry to see this. Rest in peace.

Bobby grew up with my nephews. I bowled with his brother, Walter. One of my fondest memories of Bobby was when Mizzou came to Jackson, MS, to play Mississippi State. They were ranked top ten and Bobby went off for over 100 yards rushing, leading Mizzou to an upset. I went down to field level before the game and got a player to tell Bobby I was there. He came over and chatted for a minute. He told me where the team bus would be after the game and said to come by and we could talk more, which we did. Folks in Florissant know about his dad's "man cave" in their garage. If you were at Crest Bowl you would see Walter Sr. across the street enjoying his retreat. Great family. Absolutely wonderful guy. Hugs and prayers to his family.

I just heard of Bobby´s passing and my prayers are with Sue and the entire family. My name is Paul Koch and I had he privilege of playing football with Bobby at McCluer North. He was an incredible ballplayer - he was Superman.

As good a player as he was, he was a helluva Captain, a leader and thoughtful. To give you some insight into Bobby, I will share a quick story. I got injured in our Hazelwood Central game (by the way, first play from scrimmage, Bobby went off tackle for 80 yards and a touchdown) and that evening Bobby called me just to see how I was doing. We did not travel in the same group in high school and his reaching out to me has made a lasting impression to this day.

I can scarce fathom the fact that Bobby has passed at such a young age - very sad to think that Superman is gone.

Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon him. May the soul of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace.

I don´t know if anyone will even see this, but I just found this on Jan 17, 2023. I am sorry to Bobby´s family for this sad event of his passing. I coached football at McCluer North. Although I was a defense coach, I was around him much of his time at North. During his days at MU, he´d practice rugby with my Falcon club during summers to keep fit for fall. We thought he´d play with us, but other life events prevented that. His brother Herbie was my fb manager on the soph team and he did involve himself with our rugby club. Bobby came to my bachelor party in 83,.. I didn´t see him much after that. I was told he and Sue were married. He was the best football player I had ever been around and after playing and coaching in the suburban north conference, I had seen many great players. I had heard he was in West Plains as of the last few years. If this reaches any of you, again, I´m sorry. As a young coach at North, he and I had a little different relationship than his head and position coach. A guy I never forgot. Feel free to contact me anytime. I would like to speak with any one of his sons.
