Grace Howden Obituary

Grace Anne Howden
Grace Anne Howden, 80, of Amelia Island, Fla., and Cape Cod, Mass., and formerly of Westport, Conn., passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020, at her home.
She was born in New York City, N.Y., to the late John and Grace Hubble Howden.
Anne attended the Birch Wathen Lenox School in New York City and later graduated from Vassar College and Columbia University. She taught art in the Westport school system and in the New Canaan, Conn., school system. She retired as chairman of the Art Department in New Canaan.
After retirement, Anne spent time as an interior decorator as well as consulting on art curriculum in small towns across New York. She continued her desire to educate as she taught classes at various museums and art and craft centers as well as exhibiting her art in Connecticut and Cape Cod.
Upon arrival to Amelia Island, Anne taught in the children's Saturday arts program at Island Art Association. She also exhibited her work as part of shows with various members of IAA.
She leaves behind her husband, Carl A. Pirolli, and many friends who looked forward to her handmade full moon cards as well as her other cards for special occasions.
There are no services planned at this time.
