Alberta Krider Obituary

Alberta Belle (Winebrenner) Krider, 82, of Columbia City, passed away at 1:50 a.m. on Saturday August 16th, 2025, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. She was born on December 30, 1942, in Elkhart County, Indiana to the late Clarence and Alice Marie (Blanchard) Winebrenner. She graduated from Columbia City Joint High School. On June 4, 1961 she was united in marriage to Clarence David Krider. They made their home in rural Columbia City. In her earlier years she enjoyed knitting, reading and painting gourdes, along with being a hardworking farmers wife and taking care of and raising four children. She is survived by her loving husband, Clarence; children, Charles Lynn Krider, Denise Ann Woodcox and Alice Marie Herbst; grandchildren, Cassandra Lynn Schroder, Rachael Ashley Marie Woodcox, Jessica Kaylyn Woodcox, Tony Herbst, Travis Lee Herbst, Haley Nicole Fry, Autumn Christine Wojcik and Michael Wojcik; great grandchildren, Christopher Blake Schroder, Kinnick Wade Schroder, Benjamin Bryant Pontizus, Aurora Herbst, Melody Grace Schumaker, Oaklee Ann Herbst, Navy Lee Herbst Seraphina Wojcik and Kenny Wojcik; and sisters, Patty Lou Goldsby and Karen Lee Grant.. She was preceded in death by a son, Terry Allen Krider; and brother, Von Eugene Fisher. As per Alberta's wishes there will be no services. Arrangements are by Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
