Charles E "Charlie" Shay III

Butler – Charles E "Charlie" Shay III, 78 of Butler passed away Saturday August 30, 2025 at Betz Nursing Home in Auburn. He was born December 11, 1946 in Lebanon, PA to Charles E and Dorothy M (Ayers) Shay, Jr. They have both passed away. Charlie was a 1965 graduate of Lebanon High School and was a United States Marine Corp Veteran. He worked for 19 years as Production Supervisor at Bethlehem Steel in Lebanon, PA then worked for 24 years at Nucor Fastener in St. Joe as Production Supervisor before his retirement in 2012 . Charlie was a member of the American Legion Post 202 in Butler. He enjoyed spending time with his family, working with his hands, road trips, food & cooking, donut & lottery runs and was an avid Penn State fan. He married Cindy Clemens on July 24, 1971 in Lebanon, PA and she survives in Butler. He is also survived by; Daughter, Jenn L. (Jeremy) Strohm of Butler Son, Chuck W (Nadine) Shay of New Haven 6 grandchildren, Holden (Ebony Starks) Strohm, Kory (Courtney) Strohm, Gabby (RJ) Kelton, Sabrina Shay, Cyrus Shay and James West 5 great-grandchildren, Eli Strohm, Linkyn Strohm, Hayden Strohm, Ethan Strohm and Kylan Strohm 4 brothers, Robert (Sandy) Shay of Lebanon, PA, Michael (Carole) Shay of Myerstown, PA, John (Alice Shay) of Lebanon, PA, and Thomas Shay of Columbia, SC. 3 Sisters, Barbara (David) Miller of Palmyra, PA, Patricia (Paul) Reichard of Lebanon, PA, Debra Bonalle of Lebanon, PA and many nieces and nephews. Services will be at 11 AM Friday September 5, 2025 at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center Street, Auburn, IN. Calling is Thursday September 4, 2025 from 3 to 7 PM at the funeral home and also 1 hour prior to the service Friday from 10 to 11AM.
