Dean Waddell Obituary
Rev. Dean E. Waddell, Sr., 93 of Auburn, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Auburn Village.
He was born on August 15, 1932 in North Judson, Indiana to Floyd and Eva (Johnson) Waddell.
Dean honorably serviced his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War from 1952 to 1956.
He married Patricia A. Jaax on December 27, 1953 in Knox, Indiana and she preceded him in death on October 27, 2000. Dean married his second wife, Frances (Warner) Waddell on August 15, 2006 and she survives in Auburn.
Dean worked for the Rieke Corporation in Auburn for over 20 years before his retirement in 1994. He also served as the pastor of the Auburn Assembly of God from 1964 until 1982. The church was then renamed New Life Ministries and he continued to serve as its pastor until 1987. In his free time, Dean enjoyed fishing.

Daughter, Rebecca Waddell of South Bend, Indiana.
Daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Jerry Cunningham of Elkhart, Indiana.
Daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Brent Dermott of Aurora, Illinois.
Son and daughter-in-law, Dean E. Waddell, Jr. and Beth Waddell of McDonald, Tennessee.
Son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Laurel Waddell of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Step son, Kenneth Croy of Auburn, Indiana.
Step daughter, Joyce Swihart and Ted Swihart of Auburn, Indiana.
Step son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Mary Hjelm of Hamilton, Indiana.
13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren as well as numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Patricia Waddell; sister and brother-in-law, Yvonne and Robert Glass; step son, Calvin Croy and step grandson, Christopher Tittle.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center Street in Auburn.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday immediately following the visitation at the funeral home with Pastor Bill Weaver officiating.
Burial will take place at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn.
